Common questions

Which form is used to deregister a company?

Under the Companies and Other Business Entities Act, an application to strike off a company is made on Form CR14, signed by all directors.

Can I just stop filing and let it lapse?

Directors remain responsible for the company until it is removed from the register. A proper deregistration is cleaner and avoids penalties building up.

What about tax?

ZIMRA accounts should be closed and returns brought up to date. We’ll tell you what’s needed and can refer you to a tax practitioner.
